RESOLUTION ENDORSING PROPOSED NICOLLET AVENUE BUS SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transit Commission has suggested the establishment
of a bus route commencing on 104th Street and Nicollet Avenue and proceeding on
Nicollet Avenue to Franklin Avenue, and
WIiEREAS, the City of Minneapolis has filed an amended petition before the
Public Service Commission for such bus service, and
WHEREAS, the institution of this bus service on Nicollet Avenue would have a
beneficial affect on Richfield residents and generally be in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota,~that the City Manager be directed to advise the Public Service Commiss-
ion and the Metropolitan Transit Commission that the City of Richfield favors the
establishment of a bus route which would commence on 104th Street and Nicollet
and proceeding on Nicollet to Franklin Avenue, East on Franklin Avenue to 27th
Avenue S. E., North on 27th Avenue S. E. to University Avenue S. E., West on
University Avenue S. E. to Oak Street S. E., North on Oak Street S. E. to Fourth
Street S. E. and Northwest to East Hennepin Avenue from which point it would
follow existing route 18 via 2nd Street~N. E., Grand Street, N. E., and other
streets to Central and 40th Avenues N. E.
