RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE ISSUANCE OF
PRIVA:I'E "ON®SALE" LIQUOR LICENSES
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota,
as follows:
to It is hereby determined to be necessary and desirable to submit to
the voters of this city the question of whether the city council should
be authorized to issue private "on-sale" liquor licenses to hotels and restau-
rants, as permitted under the provisions of the so-called split .liquor law, ivee
Minnesota Laws 1969, Chapter 11270
2, A special election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, the 6th day
of January, 1970 for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the
city the question set forth in the ballot as stated in paragraph 3 of this
resolutions
3o The city shall cause printed blue-colored ballots to be prepared and
distributed which shall set forth the proposition to be voted upon in
substantially the following forme

5. Notice of election shall be given by publication in the official news-
paper of the city not less than two weeks prior t® the election and by
10 days° posted notice of the election, stating the time and-place thereof, the
location of each. polling place and the proposition to be voted upon. The city
clerk shall also post a copy of the notice in his office for public inspection.
6. The city clerk shall, at least one week before the election, publish a
sample ballot in the official newspaper of the-city and post a sample
ballot in his office for public inspection.
7. ~.'he city council shall meet at the council chambers on January 7, 1970
at 4:30 p.m, for the purpose of canvassing the vote and determining the results of
said election and taking such further action as the council may deem suitable. In
canvassing the results, the council shall file a statement thereof with the city
clerk which shall include:
a) the total number of good ballots cast;
b) the total number of spoiled or defective ballots;
c) the true upte for and against the proposition being voted upon;
d) a true copy of the form of ballot used;
e) the names of the judges of the election; and
f) such other information as may be deemed pertinent.
Passed by the city council of the City of Richfield this 13th day of October, 1969.
