1964-3164r~~~ It~SOLUTION N0. 3164 ~t8.S0I.UTI®N AUTHORI2I~IVG AND DYR~CTING ADJUSZ~lBNT OP BIO'BNSBS IN VIIaI1~G~ PROJECT NO'. 474 (1963 STR~BT IMPROVBM]SNT & OILIle~ PROGRAM Sa the Village of Richf field has been engaged in and is presently engaged in the construction of water mains throughout the village, snd S® the construction of such water mains is being accomplished under a number of different contracts, which contracts relate to particular village pro3ects, and ~S', such water main construction has resulted in the damaging or destruction of street surfaces, and RBASg the Public 9dorks Department of the village has been engaged in the repair and replacement of such damaged and destroyed street surfaces using bituminous materials, _ .- '1t8AS'e such resurfacing word would ordinarily be considered to be a part of the 1963 village®wide street improvement program® ark RBAS, the wide spread construe tion of water mains throughout the village has necessitated the use of bituminous materials in excess of normal consumption, RBAS9 i~ appears to this coumcii that the cost of such excess bituminous mater@ ial is an expense which is necessary and incidental to the construction of the mater mainsg NOw TI~REFO~, BB TT RB5'CLVED by the village council of the Village of Richfield, Herrunepin County, Minnesota, as foliowse• 1. It is he~ebq determined that the cost of the excess bituminous materials used in. restoring street surfaces where water maims have been constructed is an expense in the amount ®f $44,765x00, which is necessary ar~d incidental to the respective water main pro3ects involved. 2. The village manager and administrative staff are, therefore author® ized and directed to charge such expense of bituminous material used against. the respective water main construe tion~project involved9-aa~l to pay tike cost of s~xch expenses from the respective construction funds of such water main projects. .
