OF F~PENSES IN STREET DIVISION
WHEREAS, the.-Village of Richfield hay b®en engaged in and is presently engaged in
the construction of water mains throughout the village, and

WHER~IS, the construction of sueh water mains ie being accomplish®d under a number
of different contra Eta, which- contracts relate to. particular v3.llage pro~ect~, and
,WHEHE~,59 sueh water main construction has resulted in the damaging or destruction
of street surfaces, and
WF}EREAS, the Public Works Department. of the village has been engaged and will in
the future be engaged ~.n the repa3x° end replacement of such damaged dnd destroyed
street surfaces' and.
WHEREAS, such resurfacing work would ordinarily be considered to b® a part of
the 19b3.village-wide street improvement program, and
WHEREAS, the wide spr®ad construction of water mains throughout the village has
necessitated th® extensive use of street equipment to repair and replace such street
surfaces, and
WHEREAS, it appears to this council that the cost of operation and r®pair of street
equipment is an expense which is necessary and incidental to the construction of th®
water mains$
NOW THEREFORE, be it resoleed by the village Council of the Village of Richfield,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, as followst
1. It is hereby d®termined that as of June 30,-1963 the exp®nse of operation and
repair of street equipm®nt used in x°estoring~~~~~®t surfaces wher® wat®r mains
t~tve been constructed is an expense in the amount of X2,595.32 which is nec®ssary and
incidental to the respective water ma$.n projects involved.
2. The village manager and administrative staff-are, Cherefor®, authorised and
directed to eh~rge such expen~e.of-street equipment used against the respective wat®r
main coraatruction project involeed9 and to pay the cost of such expenses from. the
respective construction funds of such water main projects.
Passed by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield this-12th day of
august, 1963.
