RESOLUTION REL~TINQr TO EXPENSES OF O'~ERTIME
La,BOR IN RESURFAflINQ OF STREETS
i~EREAS, the 9illage of Richfield has been engaged iaa and is presently engaged
in the construction of water mains throughout the TTillage, and
WHEREAS, the construction of such water mains is being accomplished under a
number of different contracts, which contracts relate to particular village pro~ects9
a~ ..
WT~EREAS, such water main construction has resulted in the damaging or destruc-
tion of street surfaces, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the village has been engaged and will
in the future be engaged in the repair and replacement of suoh damaged and d®stro~red~
astreet surfaces, and
WHEREAS, such resurfacing work would ordinarily be considered to be a part of
the 19b3 village-wide street improvement program, and
WHEREAS, .the wide spread construction of water mains throughout the village has
ns~cassitated the extensive use of overtime labor to repair and replace suoh street
surfaces, and
WHEREAS, it appears to this council that the cost of such overtime labor is an
expense which is necessary and incidental to the construction of the water mains;
NOW THEREFORE, b® it resoleed bar the pillage Oouncil of the Village of Richfield9
HHertnep9l..n County,. Minnesota, as follows
1. It is hereby determined that the expense of overtime labor used in restoring
street surfaces where water mains have been or will b® constructed is an expense which
is necessary and incidental to the respective water main projects involved,
2. The village manager and administrative staff are, therefore, authorized and
directed to charge the expense of suoh overtime labor against the respective water
main construction pro3ect involved, and to pay the cost of suoh overtime labor from
the respective construction funds of suoh water main pro3ects.
Passed by the pillage 'Council of the pillage of Richfield this 12th day of
August, 1963.
