RESOLUTION Noo 2983
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SUNDAY CLOSING LEGISLATION
WH~tEAS9 the Village of Richfield has enacted an ordinance restricting
commercial activity on Sundays and
WHE'REAS' the businesses in this community have9 for the most pane observed
the provisions of such ordinance9 and
T~HEREAS9 such ordinance has been sustained b~ the District Court of Hennepin
County9 and
TnIHEREAS9 certain competitive businesses in other nearby commun3.ties are
remaining open and v3.olatang the present Mate Sur~ay clos~.ng laws and
TrIHEREAS~ it appears to this Counc3.1 that a state®wide lave, with provisions
similar to those contained in the aforesaid Richfield ~llage ordine would
help to preserve-the objectives, of such local ordinance and would be helpful
to those business establishments in the village which are observ3.ng the regu~
lations of the Village of Richfield
