RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SENATE FILE No. 337
ti~~'~iEREAS~ Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport abuts the Village of
Richfield on the east boundary of the vi llage~ and
'WHEREAS a large portion of such airport was detached from the Village o£
Richfield9 and
WHEREAS this Council is informed that it is now being proposed that a con-
vention hotel is to be constructed and operated on airport property' and
WHERFAS~ this Council believes that airport property should not be used as

a site for business activities arrl.facilities which co uld be provided on privately
owned property in the same vicinity' so that such businesses and activities bear
their fair share of the cost of local, county and state government and are not
placed in a preferred position with reference to such taxes, and
WHIDEASi this Council is informed that Senate File No. 337' now introduced
before the Minnesota State Legislatures is directed teward avoiding the favoritism
and tax discrimination that might otherwise result from the use of such airport
properties;
NOW THEREFCRE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Rich-~
field' Hennepin County Minnesotan as follower
This Council herewith records its support of Senate File No. 337 and urges
its enactment by the Minnesota State Legislature.
