RESOLUTION AUTHOftI~I~TG AND DIRECTIldG AATUSTMENT OF EXPENSES IN STREET DIVISION
'G~HEREAS9 the Village of Richfield 'has been engaged 3.n and is presently engag®d in
the construction of water mains throughout the village9 and
WHERErAS9 the construction of such water mains is being accomplished and®r a
number of different contracts9 which contracts relate to particular village projects9
and
~S' such water main construction has resulted in the damaging or destruction
of street surfacesg and
WHF,.RE~-39 the Public Works Department of the village has been engaged and will in
the future be engaged 3n the r®pair and replacement of such damaged and destroyed
street surfaces9 and
WHEREAS, such resurfacing work would ordinarily be considered to be a part of
the 1962 village wide street improvement program, and
t~EREAS, the wide spread construction of water mains throughout the village has
necessitated the extensive use of street equipment to repair and replace such street
surfaces, and
WHCRF.EtSa it appears to this council that the cost of operation and repair of street
equipment is an expense which is necessary and incidental to the construction of the
water mai.ns9
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village Council of the Vi.].lage of ftichfield9
Hennepin County9 Minnesota9 as fol.].owsp
1. It is hereby determined that the expense of operation and repair of street-.
equipment used in restoring street surfaces where water mains have been constructed
is an expense in the amount of ~109868.l~3 which is necessary and incidental to.the
respective water main projects involved.
2. The village manager and administrative staff are9 therefore9 authorized and
directed,to charge such expense of street equipment used against the respective water
main construction project involvede and to pay the cost of such expenses from the
respective construction funds of such water main projects.
