RESOLUTION No. 2665
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR HIGHWAY
PURPOSES
WHEREAS', the Village of Richfield has heretofore acquired for park purposes
an area presently designed as "Madison Park"~ and.
WHIItEAS, the County of Hennepin has undertaken the construction of a cross-town
highway along the northerly edge of said park, and
S~HEREAS, the northerly two lots of said Madison Park are needed for the con-
struction of a. right of way for such cross-.towwn higYn~ray~ and
WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin may institute condemnation proceedings for said
acquisition of said park property in the event twat a volu~~ sales of same is not
agreed ~.ipon by the villages and
WAEftFAS, the County of Hennepin has offered to purchase said lots for the sum of
$5000.00, which sum is a reasonable purchase offers
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield,
Minnesotan as follows:
1. Said offer of the County of Hennepin to purchase the tract, hereinafter des-
cribed, for the a~un of ~5,000.00~ is hereby detea~ni_ned to be a fair and reasonable offer
and same is hereby accepted.
~ 2. .The park property which shall be the subject of sale is located in the County
of Hennepin, ?nd State of Minnesota, and is otherwise leg2tly described as follows, to-wi.ts
That part of the North 1~2 of the North 1~2 of the Northwest 1~l,. of Section 28,
Township 2€~ North flange 2?~ West lying between the plats of "Grass Lake Terrace'"
and Hen~r Thernell ~ s 2r_d Addition and North of a li ne running from the Southeast
corner of L•ot 1S R1ock 1, Henry Thernell's 2nd Addition to 1h a Southwest corner
of ~t 1, Alock 59 "Grass Lake Terrace"3 being registered land as evidenced by
('.Arts fi_rate of Title No. 280.101.
3. The Mayors Manager, Finance Director and Attorney are hereby authorized and
directed to take such steps as may by necessary to put in eff?ct the provisions of this
resolution.
4. The proceeds of sale on such land shall be used to prepay the special assess-
ments on the area. known a.s "Madison Park"; the balance shall be paid into the Public
Works Reserve Fund.
