1961-2633r~. ~~ 1 1 RESOLUTION No. 2633 RF~SOLIITI©N C~NDTNG YMCA EXPAJION EFFORTS AND URGING COMMUNITY SUPP©NT WHERHAS~, the population expansion in the South Hennepin County area has created a need for additional recreational, social and character-building facilities and pragrams~ and WHEREAS, the Young Menrs Christian Association of Minneapolis has for nearly 100 years successfully provided such facilities to both the young and adult population of the metropolitan area, and WHEREAS', additional YMCA facilities in the South Hennepin area are now need®d aril a program of construction of such facilities i.s under consideration, provided that adequate community support is forth-coming, and WHERT~A.S', the proposed facilities of the YMCA would be a necessary and desirable addition to the existing and contemplated facilities of the South Hennepin steer NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield as follows s 1. The Village Counc3.1 herewith records itself as favoring the expansion of the YMCA. facilities and programming.within the South Hennepin County area. 2. The Council herewith encourages all citizens of this area, together with service, civic and other sacial-minded organizations to express their encouragement to the YMCA for such expansion and to lend their assistance and financial support to such ex~Ansion program so as to insure the realization of such program.
