1957-1264r~~~ i RESOLUTION NO. 1264 RESOLUTION REIATING TO DESIGNATION OP A PORTION OF 62ND STREET AS A PART OP STATE AID ROAD N0. 62 WHEREAS, the County Board of Hennepin County has requested that this- Council concur in the designation of a portion of 62nd Street within this viiiage as a part of State Aid Road No. 62, and WHEREAS, officials of the County of Hennepin have informed this council that condemnation of right-of-way for the improvement of said road within this village will not be commenced until plans for such improvement have been approved, and. WHEREAS, the county engineer of Hennepin County has requested that this village specify in writing those things which this ~iilage wishes to have included in the design of such road in this viiiage, and WHEREAS, the County Board of the County cif Hennepin did .adopt a resolu- tion altering the designation of State Aid Road No. 62, within the corporate limits of the Village of Richfield as follows: BE IT RESOLVED, That the present designation. of State Aid Road No. 62 as described in Commissioner of Highway's Order No. 23952, dated September 1,. 1954, be altered and extended to read as follows: ' Beginning at the intersection of 'Trunk Highway No. 55 in Section 20, Township 28 North Range 23 Westp with the extension Easterly of Bast 58th Street in the City of Minneapolis; thence Westerly along said Easterly extension and said 58th Street to the int~:rsection South in Section 24, Township 28 Northh Range 24, with 28th Avenue _ West; thence Westerly and Southwesterly through said Section 24 and Section 23,, To~uzship 28 North,. Range 24 West to the intersec- tion with. 12th Avenue South and East 62nd Street; thence Westerly slang East 62nd Street and extensions thereof to the intersection with said 62nd Street and Xerxes Avenue South at the a corner be- tween Section 20 and 29, Township 28 North,, Rage 24 West; thence Westerly on the extension of t~,test 62nd Streetp a distance of 1?9.i4 feet; thence deflecting to the left along a 4 degree curve (delta angle 41 degrees 45 minutes and tangent distance 546..26 feet) a distance of 1043.7S feet; thence along tangent to ~ st mentioned curve a distance of 1049.0 feet; thence deflecting to the right along a 4 degree curve (delta angle 41 degrees 13 minutes and tangent distance 538.6 feet) a distance of 1030.3 feet;. thence along tangent to last mentioned curve a distance of 3000.65 feet; thence def letting to the right along a 4 degree 30 minute curve (delta angle 29 degrees 55 minutes and tangent distance 340.24 €t.) a distance of 664.81 feet; thence along tangent to last mentioned curve a distance of 1463.46 feet; thence deflecting to the left along a 4 degree curve (delta angle 30 degrees 48 minutes and tan- gent distance 394.63 feet) a distance of ?70 feet; thence along tan- gent to Ia st mentioned curve to'the intersection with County Road No. 39 in the North y of Sec. 4, Twp. 116 North,. Range 21 West. -2- Resolution No. 1264 Thence continuing in a Westerly direction across the North ~ of Sections 4, 5 and 6, Township 116 North,, Range 21 West, to the intersection with County Road No. 62 on the line between Minne- tonka and Eden Prairie Townships; thence continuing Westerly along the line between Minnetonka and Bden Prairie Townships to the inter- section with the proposed U«S. outer Belt Line Highway an8 there terminating; ~N~1, THBREPQtB, BB TT RBSOLVBD by the Village Council of the Village of Richf ieid~as follows: 1,. Said resolution of the County Board of Hennepin County, as it affects the Village of Richfield, is approved. 2. This resolution shall not be deemed to be an agreement on the part of the Village of Richfield to assume any specified share of the cost pf said State Aid Road No,. 62, whether for right-of-way, construction costs or otherwise. 3, Recognizing that serious hardship would result to this community and to property owners in the vicinity of 62nd Street in this Village if there is prolonged delay in formulating a final design for said State Aid Road No, 62 and in acquiring properties which will be needed for right-of- way for the same, this Village requests that plans for said Road, showing the layout and grade-lines which will be used,. be submitted for approval within two years from the date hereof. Upon obtaining approval of a lay- out and grade lines by this Village, but not before such approval, it is further requested that properties needed for such right-of~rtay be ob- tained without undue delay„ Believing the foregoing requests to be reason- able and consistent with just treatment of e~-eryone concerned, be it noted that this Village may refuse approval of plans and specifications for said road within this Village. 4s In order to contribute to the prompt development of a final de- sign for said road within this Village, this Council respectfully sug- gests including the following features in such design: A, Grade separations at all intersections of said Road with major north- so uth thoroughfares. B, Access onto said road only at such major intersections. C, An alignment of said road which within reasonable limits of good highway design and economy, will keep right-of-way acquisitions within this Village to a minumum. D, Service roads so as to avoid dead-end streets adjacent to said road. B, Boulevard areas of sufficient width to avoid traveled roadways i1n close proximity to residences. ..3..
