WIiERE~S~ this Council is informed that the reconstruction and improve-
ment of Trunk Highway No.. 36 3r1 the Vila ge of Richfield is under considerg-
tion by the Commissioner ~of Highways of the State of N1~.nnesota, and
Wiz it appears to be in the public interest to reconstruct such
highway iri such manner as to render unnecessary aqy further construction or
reconstruct~i.on thereof for a considerable number of years, and
WHERN~S, it appears that the ;present vo]~une of traffic on seal
portion of said Trunk Highway Noe 36 is about to increase far beyond its
present capacity and
WHERF~PiS, the right-of-way for a highw~r of adequate width to provid®
far an Qptimum number of traffic lanes is still available without the removal
of any considerable number of buildings in-the Village of Richfield but may
not be available for a much longer period of time.
NCn3, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village
of Richfield, as follows:
That the Cotr~nissioner of Highways be informed (by a copy of this
resolution) that this council requests that any reconstruction of Trunk
Highway Noh 36 through the Village of Richfield provide for at least six
main traffic lanes, with a divided highway, wifidl the additional right-of-
way to be required west of the present right-of-way north of bbd Street
and east of the present right-of-way south of 6bth Street..
