A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF THE
LOCATION FCR THE PROPC6ED CROSS~TO~N HICi~roTAY IN

WHEREAS, the Richfield Village Couzlcil, on May 17, 1~4, passed Resolu-
tion Nom 353 repealing Resolution No. 23~ of this Council which was passed on
November ~, 1~3, and

WHERF~iS, $his Council 3.s now in receipt of a petition by a substantial
number of busir}essmen and residents of th~.s Village in opposition to said -
Resolution No. X53, ~.
~1, it has been made to appear that there is widespread opposit~.on
to the designation of 62nd Street as the loca.taion for a proposed cross-town
highway in the v3.cinity of the Minneapolis Cit;t Iami.ts,
NO~nT THER~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE ~'
RICHFIELD, HENNF,PIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWSa
1. That #,he action of this Council in passing Resolui~on No. 353 is
hereby rescinded.
2. That fbis Council herewith reaffirms its posit3.on as stated in
said Reso~.ution No. 238 that it is opposed to the designation of 62nd Street
as a permanent location for said proposed cross-town highway.
3. That this Council request that further study on the location of
said proposed highway be underts.ken; and that representatives of the
State Highway Department, the County of Hennepin, and the Villages of
Richfield Bloomington and Edina be included in ar~3r group created to study
the problem of where any such cross-town highway should be located.
