1954-335rs i RES OLUPION NO. 335 RESOLUPION APPROVING PLAINS AND SPECIFICATIONS, ORDERING ADVERTISED FOR BIAS, AND DRERMINING TO MXE VILLAGE IMPROVEMENT ]PROJECT NO. 230 CONSISTING OF SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION, C -1397 WHEREAS, by previous resolutions passed by this Council a preliminary report on the making of a sanitary sewer lateral improvement (described and designated as Village Project No. 230) was ordered, and WHEREAS, the preliminary report so ordered was received by this Council and a public hearing on said improvement was ordered to be held, and WHEREAS, such public hearing has now been held on said improvement, and WHEREAS, the G. M. Orr Engineering Company has now presented this Council with plans and specifications for the construction of said improve- ment, which plans are designated as "Sanitary Sewers for the Village of Richfield, Minnesota. Project 230. March 25, 1954 ", and which specifica- tions are designated as "Specifications for Sanitary Sewers for the Village of Richfield, Minnesota. Project 230. March 25, 1954 ", which have been examined by this Council, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield, as follows: 1. That Village Project No. 230 consisting of sLenitary sewer laterals and appurtenances thereto is hereby ordered to be made, it having been made to appear that it is necessary and expedient to the public health, safety, convenience, and general welfare that said improvement be made. 2. That the plans and specifications heretofore mentioned are hereby approved and ordered filed with the Village Clerk and given Clerk's file No. C -1397. 3. That this Council will meet at 8:00 P. M. on the 24th day of May, 1954 at the Village Hall in this Village for the purpose of receiving and considering bids for the construction of the m rk included in and in accordance with said plans and specifications. 4. That bids for such construction will be received until 8:00 P.M. on said date, and wi71 be publicly opened and considered by the Village Council at 8:15 P. M. on said date. 5. That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to ad- vertise for bids for said construction in the official newspaper and in the Construction Bulletin as required by law, and in so advertising the advertisement shall provide substantially as follows: 82B -2- Resolution #335 Cont. County, Minnesota, at the Richfield Village Clerks s Office until 8 of clock P -14- on the 25th day of May, 1951, and -kill be publicly opened gnd considered by the Village Council of Richfield in the Council Chambers of the Richfield Village Hall at 8:15 P. 14. on the above date for the construction, furnishing labor and materials complete in place for: "Approximately 101,000 lin. ft. of 9" V.S.P. "Proposals arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. "Each proposal and all papers bound and attached thereto, together with proposal guaranty, shall be placed in an envelope and securely sealed therein. "The envelope shall be so marked as to indicate, (1) the name of bidder (2) type of construction and Project Number and shall be addressed to the Village Clerk, Village of Richfield, Richfield Village Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South, Richfield 04inneapoli.s 23) Minnesota. It may be either mailed, delivered by messenger or submitted in person. "Proposals forms, contract documents, plans and specifications as prepared by G. M. Orr Engineering Co., 1004 Marquette Avenue, Mi.nneapoli.s 3, Minnesota, are on file and may be seen at the Office of the Village Engineer, Richfield,, Minnesota, or the Consulting Engineers. "Copies of Proposal Forms, Plans and Specifications for use by contractors submitting a bid may be obtained from the Consulting Engineers upon deposit of $50.00. This deposit. TAU be returned to contractors who submit a bona fide bid and who return the plans and specifications in good condition within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids. One -half of the amount of the deposit will be refunded for each of all other sets of documents so returned. "This work will be paid -for in cash. Partial payments x.11 be made monthly equal to 85% of the value of the work including the value of the materials on the ground regx iced in the construction which have been delivered to the site or adjacdnt thereto. Such payments will be based upon estimates submitted by the contractor monthly showing workaompleted to date and approved by the Engineer and the Village Council.
