1953-238r~~~ 1 RESOLUTION N0. 238 A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE DESIGNATION OF 62ND STREET AS A STATE AID HIGHWAY WHEREAS, on-June g, 1953, the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County made providion that a designation of an East - West state aid highway along the soutl~rly boundary of the Cdr of Minneapolis to connect State Highway 100 with State Highway 55, and WHEREAS, the route for such state aid highway has been tem- porarily designated and no part thereof is within the limits of the Village of Richfield, and • WHEREAS, this Council .is of the opinion that no part of such highway should be on 62nd Street between the Village of Richfield and the City of Minneapolis because of the resultant widening of 62nd Street and the loss of taxable land and because of the proximity of 66th Street which is already designated as a county aid road and which will be widened to a.totaT width of one hundred feet according to current plans of the Village of Richfield, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield , Hennepin County, Minnesota, that this council hereby go on record as being opposed to a permanent designation of 62nd Street between the Village of Richfield and the City of Minneapolis as a permanent location for said East - West highway, and that the Board. of County Commissioners of Hennepin County Engineer be so informed. ~i~ ~r~ Adopted by the Village Council this day of November 1953.
