RESOLUTION NO. 209
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING
CONTRACT ON BITUMINOUS - SURFACING,
VILLAGE PROJECT NO. 2080
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, as followss
1. That plans and specifications for Village Project No. 208,
heretofore prepared by the Village Engineer, upon which bids have been
received and for which advertisement for bids has been made as required
by law, are hereby approved and adopted as the official plans and
specifications for said project.
2. That said Project No. 2082 advertisement for the con-
struction of which was authorized by this Council on September 14,
1953, is hereby determined to be a necessary expense incurred in
connection with the making of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 of
this villagep the resurfacing of 66th Street from Humboldt to nth
Avenue South with a 2+6inch stabilized base having been occasioned
by the construction of sanitary sewer interceptors in said portion
of said street.
3. That it is hereby determined that the bid of Jay W.
Craig Company, 1814 N. E. California Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota,
is the lowest bid by a responsible bidder on said Village Project
No. 2080
4. That it is hereby determined necessary and expedient
to the public health, convenience and general welfare that said
Project No. 208 now be constructed and that the same shall be con-
structed.
5. That the said bid of Jay W. Craig Company, for the con-
struction of said project on a unit price bases according to the unit
price set forth in their proposal of September 28, 1953, is hereby
accepted, the estimated total construction price being $21,683.67.
6. That the proposed contract between said Jay W. Craig
Company and the Village of Richfield, dated September 280 1953, is
hereby approved and adopted and the Mayor and Manager are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of
the Village of Richfield and the Village Clerk is authorized and directed
to affix the Village Seal thereto.
7. That payments to be made under the terms of said contract
shall be charged against the Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 Con-
struction Fund.
8. That the public contractor's corporate surety bond in
the sum of $22,000.00, which accompanies said contract and on which
St. Paul Mercury Indemnity Company, a Delaware Corporation, appears
as surety is hereby accepted and approved.
