RESOLUTION RELATING TO GAS
SERVICE CONNECTIONS.
WHEREAS, work on Pillage Pro3ect No. 179 can be expedited by the
temporary removal of certain gas installations, and
tr~EREAS, such temporary remolval can .best be a ccompiished by
employees of the Minneapolis Gas Company, and
WHEREAS, the said Minneapolis Gas Company has indicated a
willingness to do such work when requ®sted to do so by the Village on
a basis which appears to be satisfactory to this council.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved as fallowsa ~~
1. That the Pillage Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to order the temporary removal of such gas installations in village streets
as will expedite the construction of said Pillage Project No. 179, by the
signing of written work orders for such items of labor and materials as
are hereinafter specified. -
2. That the cost of su d~ items of labor-and materials hereinafter
specified shall be paid for by the Pillage and charged to the Sanitary
Improvement No. 1 Construction Fund upon presentation of monthly verified
claims therefor by the said Minneapolis Gas Company after audit. and allowance
by the ~iillage Council. °
3. That the items of labor and materials for which reimbursement
shalt be made shall be as follows
(a) ,Direct payroll according to schedules established by
contract for rank and classification of workm®n used in actual performance
of said work, including laborers, mechanics, welders, machine operators and
streetttforemenH (working union crew leader ) and costs directly related to
payroll such as warkmen~s compensation 3.nsurance, pensions, social security,
state unemployment, hospitalization ansurance and group insurance.
(Time devoted by Officers, superintendents, engineers,
Supervisors and inspectors in planning and coordinating°the works locating
and marking gas structures for the contractors, taking precautionary measures
on~gas company initiative or observing preca~#ions being taken by the contractors
will not be included i.n costs of temporary removal and replacement ordered by
the Pillage.)
(b) Materials installed ixi thepermanent structure as restored
and replacedwhich are made necessary by the temporary removal, such as pipe,
pipe protective coatings, compression couplingd, pressure control fittings,
repair sleeves and clamps, welding flanges, service saddles, street tees and
ells, drip pots, etc., at storeroom cost..
(c) The operating cost of trucks used in bringing tools and
supplies and moving men and equipment to be charged on an hourly basis as
determined from operating coat records.
{d} In the event that sectionsof gas main lying along the
le~h of steets to be opened far sewer installation would be unde°rmined and
must be removed and subsequently f'elaid and reconnected involving the use of
a main laying crew and heavy construction equipment, then charges may include
the time of a main crew supervising foreman andcgasoline lubricants used on the
Sob by the power equipment.
