IMP"ROVEN~TT NO. ]I-., APPR4~VING CERTAIN PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEP~IT
FOR BIDS :
WHEREAS, pursuant to previous authorization by this Council, the G. M,
Orr Engineering Company has prepared plans and specifications for that
portion of Sanitary Sewer Imq~rovement No. 1 consisting of interceptor
sewers designed to serve both the Village of Edina and the Village of
Richfield, and whereas, pursuant to such authorization said G. M. Orr
~hgineering Company has now prepared additional plans and specifications
for interceptor sewers and appurtenances thereto designed to serve only
the Village of Richfield, and such last mentioned plans comprmse a portion
of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 and are designated "Sanitary Sewers for
the Village of Richfield, Minnesota, Project No. 179", and,
WHEREAS, this council has .examined said plans and specifications.
NQW THEREFQRE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
RIC HE'I ELD AS FOLLOWS :
1. That the plans and specifications heretofore m®ntioned, designated
as +'Sanitary Sewers for the Village of Richfield, Minnesota, Project No. 179++
are hereby order®d placed on file in the office of the Village Glerk and
given Clerk+s.file No. C-52b.
2. That said plans and specifications are hereby approved and adopted.
3. That the portion of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 covered by and
included wi_th3.n said plans and specifioati.ons shall be made in accordance
therewith, subject to such changes as may hereafter be authorized by this Council.
4. That this Council will meet at a special meeting at 8:00 0' clock P.M., Nay
~., 1953, at the Village Hall in this village for the purpose of receiving and
considering bids for the construction of the work included in, and in accordance
with, said plans and specifications, and for other village business.
5. That bids f or such construction will be received until 8:00 O'Clock
P, M. on said date, and will be publicly opened and considered by the
Village Gouncil of .the Village of Richfield, at 8s15 O'clock P.M. on said date.
6. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Richfield is hereby
authorized and directed to advertise for bids on said construction.
7. That in so advertising the advertisement shall pro~fide substantially
as follows:

Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the
Village Council of the Village of Richfield, Hennepin County; Minnesota?
at the Richfield Village Clerks s Office unta.l 8:00 0 ° clock P.M. on the 4~
day of May, 1953 anal will be publicly opened and considereed by the Village
Council of Richfield in the Council Chambers at the Richfield Village Hall -
at 8:15 P'l~~ on the above date for constxucti~, furnishing labor and
ma~terails complete in place for: .

Approximately 17, 000 ].in: f t. of 18" to 30" R.C.F. and
Approximately x.5,000 lin. ft. of 9" to l5" V.S.P. and
Approximately 1~, 300 ].in f t. of 6f~ to 12" ~C.I . P.
Proposals arriving after the designated time will be ret~urn.ed unopened.
Each proposal and all papers bound and attached thereto, together with
proposal guaranty, shall be placed in an envelope and securely sealed therein.
The envelope shall be so marked as to indicate, (1) the name of the bidder,
(2) type of construction and Project number, and shall be addressed to the
Village Clerk, Village of Richfield, Richfield Village Hall, 670 Portland
Avenue South, Richfield{Minneapolis 23) Minnesota. I:t may be either mailed,
delivered by messenger or submitted in person,
Proposal forms, crontract documents, plans and specifications as prepared
by G. M, Orr Engineering Co,, 100l~ Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis 3, l~i.nnesota,
are on file and may be seen at the Office of the Village Engineer, Richfield,
1'~sineso ta, or the Consulting Engineers * '
Copies of Proposal Forms, P~aans and Specifications for use by contractors
submitting a bid may be obtained from the consulting Engineers upon deposit
of X100.00. This deposit will be returned to con trae-tors-wha -Submit a bonafide
bid and who return. the plans and specifications in good condition within
fifteen(15) days after the opening of bids. One-half of the amourt~ of the
deposit will be rer~unded for each of all other sets of documents so returned.
This work will be paid for in cash. Partial payments will be made monthly
equal to $5~ of the value of the work, including the value of the materials o~ the
ground required in the construction which have been delivered to the site or
adjacent thereto. Such payments will be based upon estimates submitted by the
contractor monthly showing work completed to date approved by the Engineer and the
Village Council. The Village of Richfield will make final payment within thirty
days of ter acceptance of the wo rk in conformance with the general requirements
and covenants of the contract.
No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with. the Village Clerk
of Richfield and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond or certified check
payable to the, Village of Richfield, for 5~ of the amount bid, (to be forfeited
as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder shall
fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required bond.)
The Village of Richfield reserves the right to reject any and all ,bids.
