1953-93rRESOLUTION NO, 93 A RESOLUTION RELATING TO SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT NO. l., APPROVING CERTAIN PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DIRECTING ADVERTISE- MENT FOR BIDS WHEREAS, pursuant to previous authorization by this Council..-the G. M. Orr Engineering Company has prepared plans and specifications for that por- tion of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 which is designed to serve both the Village of Richfield and the Village of Edina, and appurtenances thereto; and in such plans and specifications a certain portion of the proposed sanitary sewer construction is designated as "Joint Sanitary Sewer - Project No. 174" and the remaining portion is designated as "Joint Sanitary Sewer - Project No. 175 ", and WHEREAS this council has examined said plans and specifications. NOW THEREFORE.BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield as follows: 1. That the plans and specifications heretofore mentioned are hereby ordered placed on file in the office of the Village Clerk and given Clerk's file No. C401. 2. That said plans and specifications are hereby approved and adopted. 3. That the portion of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 covered by said plans and specifications shall be made in accordance therewith, subject to such changes as may hereafter be authorized by this Council. r 4. That this Council will meet at.a Special Meeting at 7:00 o'clock P.M., February 2, 1953, at the Village Hall in this village for the parpose-of re- ceiving and considering bids for the construction of the work included in and in accordance with said plans and specifications, and for other village business. 5. That bids for such construction �d.11 be received until 5:00 o'clock P.M. on said date, and will be publicly opened and considered by the Village Council of the Village of Richfield, as well as the Village Council of the Village of Edina, at 8:30 o'clock P.M. on said date. 6. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Richfield is hereby author- ized and directed to advertise for bids on said construction, along with the Village Clerk of the Village of Edina. 7. That in so advertising the advertisement shall provide as follows: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS For JOINT SANITARY SEWER FOR VILLAGES OF EDINA, MINNESOTA AND RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA Project No. 174 Project No. 175 Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Village Councils of the Villages of Edina and Richfield, Hennepin County, Minnesota, at the Richfield Village Clerk's Office until 5:00 o'clock P.M. Resolution No. 93 on the 2nd day of February, 1953, and will be publicly opened and considered by the Village Councils of Edina and Richfield in the Council- Chambers at the Richfield Village Hall at 8:30 P.M. on the above date for the construction, furnishing labor and materials complete in place for: (a) Joint Sanitary Sewer - Project No. 174 approximately 30,000 lin. ft. of 15" to, 481t R.C.P. (b) Joint Sanitary Sewer - Project No. 175 approximately 22, 000 lin. ft.-of 33" to 4811 R.C.P. (c) Combined Bid on Projects No's. 174 and 175. Proposals arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. Each proposal and al] papers bound and attached thereto, together with ° proposal guaranty, shall be.placed in an envelope and securely sealed therein. The envelope -shall be so marked as to indicate, (1) the name of bidder, (2) type of construction and Project number, and shall be addressed to the Village _ Clerk, Village of Richfield, Richfield Village Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South, Richfield (Minneapolis 23) Minnesota. It may be either mailed, delivered by messenger or submitted in person. Proposal forms, contract documents, plans and specifications as prepared by G. M. Orr Engineering Co„ 1004 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis 3, Minnesota, are on file and may be seen at the offices of the Village Engineers, Edina and Richfield, Minnesota or the Consulting Engineers. Copies of proposal forms, plans, and specifications for use by con- tractors submitting a bid may be obtained form the Consulting Engineers upon deposit of $50.00 for each project or 0100.00 for both projects. This deposit will be returned to contractors who submit a bonafide bid and who return the plans and specifications in good condition within fifteen . (15 ) days after the opening of bids. One -half of the amount of the deposit will be refunded for each of all other sets of documents so returned. This work will be paid for in cash. Partial payments will be made monthly equal to 85% of the value of the work, including the value of the materials on the ground required in the construction which have been delivered to the site or adjacent thereto. Such payments will be based upon estimates submitted by the contractor monthly showing work completed to date and approved by the Engineer and the Village Councils. The Villages of Edina and Richfield will make final payment within thirty days after acceptance of the work in con- formance with the general requirements and covenants of the contract. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Village Clerk of Richfield and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond or certified check payable to the Villages of Edina and Richfield, for 5% of the amount bid, (to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be ac- cepted and the bidder shall fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required bond),I ATTEST: !r4MMM& MAYOR ViLUG,t M'AIIAGER
