ORDINANCE N0. 111~~
AN ORDINANCE DEFINING VARIOUS MISDEMEANORS IN THE VILLAGE
OF RICHFIELD AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF
The Village Council of the Village of Richfield do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Disorderly Conduct. The doing of any of the following acts without author-
ity of law are hereby declared to be disorderly conduct and shall constitute a mis-
demeanor:
A. Wilfully disturbing any assembly or meeting not unlawful in its character, or the
peace and quiet of any family or neighborhood.
$. Wilfully and lewdly ex'ppossglewdnesssor lascivious behavior, orany actsof public

indecency.
C. Using profane, vulgar or indecent language in or gbout any public building, store
or place of business or upon any of the streets, alleys, sidewalks, parks or publ3,c
places in this village so as to be audible.
D. Appearing in an intoxicated condition or drinking intoxicating liquor while on
any public street or other public place or while on any private property without the
consent of the owner of such property, or while in a vehicle upon a public street.
Section 2. Vagrancy. Every person who shall have no visible means of support and
livewithout emplo~-ment or a settled place of abode, or loiter about the streets
or any other_public~place or who shall be found trespassing on private property and
not be able to account for his or her presence shall be deemed a ~tagrant. Any such
person found upon the streets or in any public place in this municipality shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 3. Crimes Against Property. Every person who shall wilfully procure money
or property in this village by fraud, misrepresentation or false pretenses, or who
shall commit any acts of larceny, robbery or burglary within this village shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor.
B. Every person who shall wilfully or maliciously displace, remove, in3ure or destroy
public or private property of any kind without authority of law shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor.
C. Every person who shall negligently or carelessly set on fire or cause to be set
on fire combustible material, whether on his land or not, by means whereof the prop-
erty of another shall be endangered, or who shall negligently allow any fire upon his
'own land to extend beyond the limits thereof or who shall wilfully disobey any lawful
fire ordinance or order for the purpose of fire protection within this village, shall
ice guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section, It. Offenses Against Public Justice.
__ A. Every person who, by force or fraud, shall rescue from lawful custody, or from an
officer or pe rson having him in lawful custody, a prisoner held upon a charge, arrest,
commitment, conviction, or sentence fora misdemeanor, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor.

B. Every person who sha17. takq from the custody of an offie®r or other person personal
property in his charge under any process of law or who shall wilfully inure or de-
stroy such property shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

C. Every prisoner who shall escape from custody, or who shall depart from the fail or
place of confinement or shall fail to return in accordance with his permission, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor.
D. Every person who with intent to effect or facilitate the escape of a prisoner,
whether such excape shall be effected or attempted or not, shall enter the fail or
convey to a prisoner any information or send into the fail any disguise,instru~nt,
weapon or other thing, and every person who shall aid or assist a prisoner in e$-
caping or attempting to escape from lawful custody shal]. b® guilty of a misdemeanor.
E. Every person who shall knowingly or wilfully conceal or harbor far the purpose
o~ concealment, a person who has escaped or is escaping £rom custody, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor.
F. Every person who, after having been lawfully commanded by any magistrate to arrest
another person, shall wilfully neglect or refuse to do soy and every person who, after
having been lawfully commanded to aid. an officer in arresting any person or in retaking
any person who has escaped from lawful custody, or in executing any legal process,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
G. Every person who iri any case, or under any circumstances not otherwise especially
provided for herein shall wilfuLty resist, delay or obstruct a public officer in dis-
charging or attempting to discharge a duty of his office, shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor.
H. Every person who shall directly or indirectly address any threat or intimidation
to a public officer, or who shall attempt to bribe any public officer, with intent to
induce him to do or make or to omit or delay any act, decision or determination shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor.
I. Whenever two or more persons shall conspire to commit any act injurious to the
public health, public morals, trade or commerce, or for the perversion of obstruction
of public justice or the due administration of laws, every such person shall be guilty
of a misdeme .
Section 5. Other A3isdemeanors.

A. Every person who shall suffer or permit any minor to have possession of intoxi-
cating liquor on any public street, park or public place in this village, in any
vehicle or otherwise, and every minor who shall have in his possession such intoxi-
cating liquor while on any public streets, park or public place in this village,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
B. Every person who shall fail or refuse to provide any police officer with accurate
information as .to his identity and place of residence when requested to do so, and
every person who shall f~l.sely register himself or wilfully obtain or permit false
registration of any other person at any tourist camp, cabin camp, hotel, rooming house
or other place furnishing sleeping or over-night stopping accommodations for transient
guests shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 6. Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation committing any offense which is
herein defined as a misdemeanor shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine
not exceeding X100.00 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days.
