1952-26/ ~ M! ~, ORDINANCE ANEiV'DIIJ G ORDIlVANCE N0. 2.01 ~ AN ORDINANCE AN~ITDIN G THAT CERTAIN Q~R~AINANCE N0. 2.01 OF THE VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD, E~JTITLED: AN OftDI~+1ANCE TO REGULATE THE C~TSTRUCIQIT AND ALTERATI ~ , 0~' BUILDIlV (~ AND STRUCTURES TAI THIN THE VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRC~'IO'TIl~iG THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, ORDER, (~V'VFNTE~TCE, PROSPERITY, AND GII~TERAL TniELFARE IN SAID VILLAGE, passed -the 13th day of September, 193, as subsequently amended. The Village Council of the Village of Richfield do ordain as follows: That Section 7, Paragraph 1 of the aiaove mentioned ordinance No. 2.01 of the Village of Richfield, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows: "1. The first inspection shall be requested and an inspection made after basement or other foundatian exca~a.taons have been made. The building inspector shall make soil tests using a soil auger at the tame of making such inspection. The second inspection of the foundation shall be requested and an inspection made before backfilling and capping the foundation. Txi the event tYm.t the building inspector is not available at the t3.me the first inspection. is requested the contractor shall be held responsible for determining that the soil is suitable and has proper bearing vallues. In all cases the con tractor shall also make soil borings to determine whether the soil has suitable bearing values, and if it is found fiat the soil is composed of unsuitable material he shall notify the building inspector of the condit3.ons encountered, and s~,ll not proceed with ecnstruction until conditions for proper support of foundation and footings .have been established by the building inspector and such conditions have been met by '~. the contractor. In case of doubt as to the bearing value of soil ~ the building inspector may require the contractor to secure the services of a testing labora-Y,ory to determine such bearing value, at the- expense of the contractor.
