AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 5, SUBSECTION 3 OF THE ZONING ORDINA?~CE OF
THE CITY OF RICHFIELD ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PRON,OTING HEALTH, SAFETY, ORDER, CQNVENIENCE, PROSPERITY, AND GENERAL
tti'ELFARE BY REGULATING THE USE OF LAND, THE LOCATION AIv~D USE OF BUILD-
INGS, THE ARRANGEMENT OF BUILDINGS ON LOTS AND THE DENSITY OF POPULA-
TION IN THE VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD, HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA" PASSED
THE 25TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1954, AS SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED.
CITY OF RICHFTELD DOES ORDAIN:
The zoning ordinance of the City of Richfield entitled:• '°An Ordinance for the
Purpose of Promoting Health, Safety, Order, Convenience, Prosperity and General Welfare by
Regulating the Use of Land, the Location and Use of Buildings, the Arrangement of Buildings
on Lots and the Density of Population in the Village of Richfield, Hennepin County, Minne-
seta", passed the 25th day of October, 1954, is hereby amended in the following respects:
Section 5, Subsection 3 thereof, entitled "General Commercial District"
is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the following paragraph:
/That area lying between the center line of Cedar Avenue and
a line distant 173 feet westerly and parallel thereto and
between the center line of 70th Street and a line distant
177 felt northerly and parallel to the center line of 77th
Street, except. the north 545.17 feet of Outlot 1, Evergreen
Gardens 2nd Addition%.
Section 5, Subsection 3 thereof, is hereby amended by adding thereto
the following paragraph::
"That area lying between the center line of Cedar Avenue and
a line distant 173 feet westerly and parallel thereto and
between the center line of 70th Street and a line distant 177"
feet northerly and parallel to the center line of 77th Street,
except the north 545.17 feet of Outlot 1, Evergreen Gardens 2nd
Addition, and except the South 150' of that part of the E4 of
the N4 of the NE4 of the SE4 of Section 35, Township 28, Range
24, lying East of the West 153.13 • thereof".
Section 5, Subsection 4 thereof, entitled "Multiple Residences", is hereby
wner.~ded by adding thereto the following paragraph::
"The South 150' of that part of the E4'of the N4 of the NE4
of the SEa of Section 35, Township 28, Range 24, lying East of
the West 153.13 thereof"„

L. R. FARRINGTON, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all times herein
stated has been the General Manager of the newspaper known as The Richfield News and has
full knowledge of the facts herein stated' as follows: (1) Said newspaper is printed in the
English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed
space to at least 900 square inches. (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least
once each week. (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted to news of local
interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other
publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and advertisements. (4) Said
newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least
500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its
total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as
second-class matter in its local post-office. (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the city of
Richfield in the County of Hennepin and it has its known office of issue in the City of
Richfield in said county, established and open during its regular business hours for the gathering
of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and maintained by the managing
officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all such
regular business hours of the newspaper and business related thereto. (6) Said newspaper files a
copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7) Said newspaper has com-
plied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates
of publication mentioned below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of
Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form
prescribed by the Seoretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn
to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
