1972-05Bill No, 1972-5 AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER III, PART IV, SECTION 3.29, OF THEE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA CITY OF RICHFIELD DOES ORDAIN: Chapter III, Part IV, Section 3.29, of the ordinance code of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, relating to certain zoning regulations applicable in all districts is hereby amended by adding, after Subdivision 9 thereof, the following: "Subd. 10. Underground Utilities. All electrical and telephone utility service lines from existing or new distribution systems to any new multiple, commercial or industrial building shall be installed underground. Subd. 11. Exterior Treatment of Buildings, A11 new buildings or major reconstruction of existing buildings shall be planned and constructed so that the design and treatment of each exterior vertical wall and roof surface shall be the same as or equivalent to that provided for the front wall and roof surface. This requirement, however, shall not be applicable to walls or roof surfaces which are so located in relation to other buildings or structures that such surfaces will be completely screened or masked from public view. Subd. 12. Screening Mechanical Equipment. Any mechanical equipment and ductwork located on the roof, exterior wall or grounds adjacent to any struc- ture, other than a single family residence or its accessory buildings, shall be enclosed in a screening enclosure. Such enclosure shall be designed to pro- vide a safety shield around such equipment and ductwork and shall conceal it from public view and from view from nearby premises. Such enclosure shall be architecturally harmonious with the structure involved. Plans for such enclos- ure shall be shown on construction plans. The requirements of this subdivision shall not be applicable to window air conditioners or to stacks." ,- Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, this 24.th day of April, 1972.
