06-11 Bill No. 2024-061 BILL NO. 2024-06 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 925.02 OF THE RICHFIELD CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO REGULATION OF VACANT BUILDINGS THE CITY OF RICHFIELD DOES ORDAIN: Section. 1. Subsection 925.02 of the Richfield City Code is amended as follows: 925.02. – Registration and regulation of vacant buildings. Subdivision 1. Policy. The purpose of this subsection is to protect the public health, safety, and welfare by establishing a program for the identification and regulation of vacant buildings within the City. Subsection 925.02 also determines the responsibilities of owners of vacant buildings and provides for administration, enforcement, and penalties associated with the same. (Added, Bill No. 2011 -11) … Subd. 8. Maintenance of vacant buildings. The owner must comply with and address the following items in the property plan: (j)Exterior maintenance. The owner must comply with all applicable property maintenance regulations and City codes including, but not limited to, the following: (1)Public nuisances. The owner must eliminate any activity on the property that constitutes a public nuisance as defined by City code. (2)Grass and weeds. Any weeds or grass must be no greater than eight (8) six (6)inches in height. Sec. 2. This Ordinance is effective in accordance with Section 3.09 of the Richfield City Charter.
