AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER IV
OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF
THE CITY OF RICIiFIELD
CITY OF RICHI'IELll DOES ORDAIN:
Criapter IV of th.e Ordinance Code of the City of
Richfield regulating use of streets, public ways, grounds
and places is hereby amended by adding thereto section
4,16 to read as follows:
"~..lE REGULATING ACTIVITIES ON BODIES OF WATER
WIi'HIN THE CITY .'
Subdivision 1, Definitions. 'Bodies of 4~Jater'
means Richfield Lake, 6Vood Lake, Legion Lake,
Mother_ ' s La};.e, and all other .lakes, streams, ponds,
r~7e~ tl~~zlds, mars'rzes, water. courses, and pondir_g areas

Subd.. 2. Activiti~=~> Prohibited. Subjoc_t to the

(3} The activity is sponsored by a group,
assoc.~ation or organization which applied
' for and received a permit for such activity
pursuant to subdivision 4 of this section.
Subd. 4. Permits.. A group, association or organization
wishing to sponsor or conduct and actlvlty described in
Subdivision 1 of this section shall apply to the city
manager nit less than .l0 days before such planned
~.ct9_vity for a permit f_o condu_ct that act.~_vity. The

manager. No permit sha11 be issued un]_ess the city
manager determines that the proposed activity:
(1) Could not reasonably be conducted in areas
of the city where such activity is not
prohibited.
(2) Will not be likely to disturb the resident.C

control or traffic or maintenance probl.emss
(4) Will not interfere wiL-h other activities
previously scheduled f_or the area.

The city manager ma_y limit the ti.rne of the activity,

other conditions upon the conduct of the proposed
activity. The manager may also rectuire as a condition

the c~_ty~harmless from liability of any kind o%character
and reimbursing the city for any property damage or

Subd. 5. Cancellation of Acti~,rity. The city manager may
Cancel or. terminate any activity permitted under this
section for such a_ period as_he shall deem necessary f_or
or safety reasons or to terminate or prevent
breaches of the peace or order. No~erson shall commence
or continue any activity which is the subject of the
manager`s order during the period such order is in effect.
