Chapter III, Part iV, Section 3.33,
Subdivision 6 of~he.otdinance code of
the City of Richfield, Minnesota is
hereby amended as follows:
Subd. 6. Lot Areas and Yard Re-
quirements. (The same requirements
shall be observed for the "C-2" dis-
trict as are provided fora "C-1"
district in„ Section 3.32 of this
chapter:) - r ,
(1) Except as provided in para-
graph (2) of this subdivision the same
minimum reqquirements shall be ob-
served ibti~"C-2" d[strict as are pro-
vided fora "C-1" district 3.32.
(2) A .gasoline service station
may co`n'struct a canopy extended
into the building setback area of the
lot on whleh it.is located provided that
such cano `complies with the foliow-
ing rag{) ons:
(a?" t must be designed and
constructed to serve as protection for
customers and attendants from incle-
ment weather.
- 4b) It may extend into the front
yard area distance of 10 feet, as
measured from the centerline of the
gasoline. pump island closest to the
stree6lot line but in no instance closer
than five Eeet from this lot line.
(c) Only one canopy shall be
permitted at each servtce station,
unless it is located on a corner lot.

(a) [d] The canopy shall not be
constructed to a height exceeding
sixteen-feet.
(ld [e] The canopy shall not be
designed or use nor shall it be used
as a location for any business or
advertising sign of a permanent or
temporary construction.
(g) [f Lighting located on the
canopy shall be designed as an inte-
gral part of the canopy providing that
fixtures shall not extend below the
bottom surface of the canopy struc-
ture and shall be beamed downward.
(Id [g] The canopy shall not be
used as the,.location for lights or
lighting fixtures used to illuminate
[he service station building, off-street
parking areas or other areas not
directly beneath the canopy.
Flashing lights and rotating lights
shall not be located on or attached to
the canopyy
(iy [h] No canopy, whether it
conforms with the foregoing regu-
lations or not, shall be cottstruc[ed in
a location or manner witich'will block
or obscure the vision o[ automobile
traffic on any street=adjacent to the
service station or the vision of an
automobile entering or leaving the
service station.
