AN ORDINANCE A.M.ENDING THE CITY C~-:A.RTER
OF THE CITY OF RICHFIELD
CIT`_' OF RICHFIELD DOES ORDAIN:
Thy City Charter of the City of Richfield is hereby amended

in the following respect:
Section 2.03 thereof, entitles "Elective Cfficers" is hereby
amender to read: ~ r
Section 2.03. Elective Officers. The council shall be
composed of a mayor and four council met„bets all of whom shall be
registered voters. Commencing with 1981 election the offices of
~~6ayor and at-large council member shall be filled by election at
large. Commencing with the 1982 election the offices of the
three district council members shall be elected from appertioned
council districts in which they reside. The mayor shall serve
for a term of two years, and the at-large and district council
members shall serve for a term of three years. Commencing with
the 19E7 election the manor shall .serve for a term of t:-:ree years.
Commencing with the 1990 election the mayor and at-large councs.l
member shall serve for a ter; of four years. CoTSnenc~.^.a with the
1988 election the district .council members shall serve for a
term of four years. The regular. term of an office commences on
January 1 next following the general election at which balloting
for the full torn of office occurs. A candidate for the office
of district council member must reside while seeking election and
while serving in office within the district from which he or she
