RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING A STUDY AND IMPOSING A MORATORIUM ON THE OPERATION OF
CANNABIS BUSINESSES UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2025
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has adopted the above referenced ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the verbatim text of the ordinance is cumbersome, and the expense of
publication of the complete text is not justified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Richfield
that the following summary is hereby approved for official publication:

TRANSITORY ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A STUDY AND IMPOSING A MORATORIUM ON THE
OPERATION OF CANNABIS BUSINESSES IN THE CITY UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2025
This summary of the ordinance is published pursuant to Section 3.12 of the
Richfield City Charter.
The purpose of the ordinance is to allow staff time to research and study the adult
cannabis law and impose a moratorium on cannabis businesses until January 1, 2025, or
until the City receives an application from the Office of Cannabis Management for a cannabis
business within the City of Richfield, whichever occurs first.
Copies of the ordinance are available for public inspection in the City Clerkâs office
during normal business hours or upon request by calling the Executive Department at
(612) 861-9712.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 8th day of August
2023.
