10-10375rRESOLUTION NO. 10375 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE EMERGENCY RESPONSE (SAFER) GRANT, (EMW-2009-FH-00130) IN THE AMOUNT OF $305,119, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY TO ADMINISTER THE FUNDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GRANT AGREEMENTS AND TERMS PROSCRIBED BY THE DONORS WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 reads in part as follows; Any city, county, school district or town may accept a grant or devise of real property and maintain such property for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms proscribed by the donor. Nothing herein shall authorize such acceptance or use for religious or sectarian purposes. Every acceptance shall be by resolution of the council adopted by two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full, and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has been awarded the grant as described below, US Department of Homeland Security, Staffing for Adequate Fire Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant, (EMW-2009-FH-00130) in the amount of $305,119. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, as follows: That the City Council of the City of Richfield hereby accepts the US Department of Homeland Security, Staffing for Adequate Fire Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant (EMW-2009-FH-00130) in the amount of $305,119for the year 2010 and authorizes the City to administer the funds in accordance with the grant agreements and terms proscribed by the donors.
