RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ESTABLISHING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT COUNTING
BOARD FOR THE STATE PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 2036.121 and 2038.14, as
amended, an absentee ballot counting board is established. The board has those
powers and duties, and shall be appointed in the manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the absentee ballot counting board is authorized to examine
absentee ballot envelopes and receive or reject absentee ballots in the manner
provided by Minnesota Statutes, Section 2036.121 and 2038.19, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the absentee ballot counting board shall be appointed for each
primary, general and- special election in the City.
WHEREAS, the city council also appoints other individuals and all members
appointed to the Hennepin County Absentee Ballot Board as authorized under Minn.
Stat. 2048.21, subd.2 under direction of the city clerk to serve as members of the City of
Richfield Absentee Ballot Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield does hereby approve guidelines establishing an absentee ballot counting
board and authorize the City Clerk to oversee the appointment and procedural
processes.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 8th day of
June, 2010.
