11-09-2022 Resolution No. 12025 RESOLUTION NO. 12025 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION RECEIVED BY THE RICHFIELD RECREATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT FROMDIANE ELIZABETH GORNEY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $142,575.93, DESIGNATED FOR WOOD LAKE NATURE CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE RECREATION SERVICES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE ASSOCIATED GRANT WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 reads in part as follows: Any city, county, school district or town may accept a grant or devise of real or personal property and maintain such property for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. Nothing herein shall authorize such acceptance or use for religious or sectarian purposes. Every acceptance shall be by resolution of the council adopted by two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full, and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has received grants and donations as described below: DATE DONOR PURPOSE AMOUNT Wood Lake Nature Center Diane Elizabeth Gorney October 2022 $142,575.93 WHEREAS, Wood Lake Nature Center will make use of the funds to help build a new nature center for the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE ITRESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, as follows: That the City Council of the City of Richfield hereby accepts the donation listed above, received in October 2022, and authorizes the City to administer the funds in accordance with grant agreements and terms prescribed by donors.
