~- The Sister City Lnternational Committee was established by
Resciluton No, 687 in March, 1984. It is composed of nine
members who are appointed by the, city council.
Membership Requirements
The members must be residents of the City of Richfield and
r should include a representative balance among various groups 'and
interests within the community. Terms shall be for three
years. No member may serve more than three consecutive three-
year terms unless there are fewer applicants than positions
open. A member may be reappointed after a break in continuous
service. This appointment shall be 'treated a a first term
appointment.. (Resolution No. 700b passed by the citq council on
February 11, 1985).
Committee Responsibilities
The Sister City International Committee shall recommend the
selection of a foreign city for the purpo e of establishing a;
community-wide international exchange program and formalize a

a community wide sister city program and maintain it from year
-to year. The Committee shall also prepare an annual reportfor'

Ex-Officio Members
The Mayor of the City of Richfield and the City Manager
serve as ex-officio members t,o this committee.

The City Manager serves as the city staff to this committee.
