RESOLUTION N0. 5864 '
RESOLUTION RESERVING ANY OPPOSITION TO THE IMPROVEMENTS
PROPOSED BY THE BOARD OF MANAGERS AMENDED PRELIMINARY
REPORT ON ,PETITION FOR A BASIC LAND AND WATER MANAGEMENT
PROJECT FOR MINNEHAHA CREEK
WHEREAS,. the City Council of the City of Richfield is tfi e official
governing body of the City of Richfield, and
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield is one of 30 cities and townships lying
wholly or partly within the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District boundary
limits; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Managers have been appointed to act as the
official governing body for all matters to come before the District, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Managers have caused to be prepared an Amended
Preliminary Report-.dated December 1977 which prescribes several improvementsi
to Lake Minnetonka and to Minnehaha Creek leading to improving basic land
and water management, and

WHEREAS, the cost of providing said improvements may be assessed against
the properties lying wholly or partially within the entire Minnehaha Creek
Watershed District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield, Minnesota, that the City Council does not wish to interpose
any objections at this time to the improvement projects proposed by the
Board of Managers and as described in the Amended Preliminary Report but
hereby requests the Board of Managers to consider the remote location of
the proposed improvements from the City of Richfield and further requests
the Board be cognizant of any precedents which may be set in determining..
whatever direct benefits may or may not be derived by the City of Richfield
from the construction of said improvements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Richfield
is hereby directed to provide a copy of this resolution to the Board of
Managers, Hennepin County Board of Commissioners, and all appropriate
Legislators.
