RESOLUTION NO. 5787
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR SHARED RIDE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Yellow Taxi Company has proposed a.shared_ride
program to operate in the cities of Richfield., Bloomington and
Edina, and
WiiEREAS, the proposed shared ride program would provide off•-peak
reduced fare rides to passengers within the three communities,. and
W1IEREAS, this proposed program would provide increased flexibility
to Richfield residents in need of transportation, and
WHEREAS, the Pichfield City Council has publicly endorsed the
exploration and implementation. of alternative •transportation programs
which could especially benefit senior citizens and handicapped persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield that they do hereby endorse the Yellow Taxi Company Shared Ride
proposal and encourage the Yellow Taxi Company to seek implementation of
this pr_ogram'as soon as possible.
