RESOLUTION NO. 5934
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF
APPLICATION FOR L.E.A.A. ACTION GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Storefront/Youth Action, Inc. is an agency
serving Richfield area youth and their problems, and
WHEREAS, the Storefront/Youth Action, Inc. has discovered
instances, of adolescent abuse through participants in their
various programs, and
WHEREAS, the Storefront/Youth Action, Inc. presently has
no program for youth and families to address abuse problems,
and
WHEREAS, the Storefront/Youth Action, Inc. has recently
learned that federal L.E.A.A. funds are available to support
development of an adolescent abuse counseling and. prevention
program, and
WHEREAS, implementation of an adolescent abuse counseling
program. by the Storefront/Youth Action, Inc.. would benefit
Richfield families.
NOtiJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Richfield that the City of Richfield act as a sponsor-
ing unit of government and grantee for the project titled
Adolescent Victim Counseling Program to be conducted by the
Storefront/Youth Action, Inc. during the period January 1 through
December 3.1, 1979.
BE I~-FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to apply to the Governor's Commission on Crime Pre-
vention and Control for funding of the project and execute
such agreements..as are necessary to implement the project on
behalf of the City of Richfield.
