RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY OF EDINA
TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION TO PREVENT
PROBLEMS IN RICHFIELD CAUSED B~ EDINA
_ STORM WATER RUN OFF IN~ THE VICINITY OF
XERXES AVENUE AND ADAMS HILL PARK
-_ WHEREAS, the City of Richfield and the City of Edina have cooperated
in years past to jointly construct storm sewer improvements, and
WHEREAS, in 1967, the two cities cooperated to mutually construct a
.storm sewer in the vicinity of 70th Street and Xerxes Avenue, and
WHEREAS, increased development near or adjacent to the above area
may have occurred or could lead to excess storm water. runoff occurring in
the City of Richfield, and
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield is interested in investigating means of
correcting such storm water drainage problems, and
WHEREAS, any corrections to resolve these problems will affect drainage
in both Richfield and Edina.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield that the City Council of the City of Edina is hereby requested to
participate with the City of Richfield in a study of storm sewer drainage along
the contiguous border of the two cities between. 66th Street and 78th Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Managers of the City of Richfield
and the City of Edina be authorized to prepare such a study with recommendations
for action.
