RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATION
FROM THE 1979 CONTINGENCY TO PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT
AND REVISING 1979 BUDGET TO INCLUDE SETTLEMENT ON FIREFIGHTERS'
1978 AND 1979 RETROACTIVE PAY
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5.966. appropriated funds for each department of the City
for the year 1979, and
WHEREAS, a contingency appropriation was made.. in the General Fund for various.
purposes, including the 1979 salary adjustments and the related fringe benefit
'contributions, and
WHEREAS, Resolution Numbers 6010, 6016, 6048 and-6055 made appropriations from
the 1979 contingency account to the various departments for all pay plans except
the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1215, and
WHEREAS, .Resolution Number 6067 approved the 1979 .,contract for the International
Association of Fire Fighters., Local 1215, establishing the Fire Fighters' 1978 pay
plan, and it is necessary to adjust the 1978 budget appropriation $30,318 for
.calendar year 1978 retroactive pay, and $48,396 for 1979 calendar year at 1979 rates,
and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6011 reserved $42,000 of the 1978 contingency for
'`the fire fighters compensation settlement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota as follows:
1. That the 1978 reserve. for Authorized Expenditures in the amount
of $30,318. be transferred to the General Fund balance and
reappropriated to the 1979 budget appropriation of the Public
Safety .Department.
2. That. the sum of $48,396 be transferred from the 1979 contingency- ,
appropriation of the General Fund to the. Public Safety Department.
3. That the City Manager and the Finance Director bring into effec t
the provisions of this resolution.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 26th
