Members of the I-494 Project team will present an update on the progress made to date by the I-494:
Airport to Highway 169 Project 1 Visual Quality Advisory Committee (V Q AC) in their efforts to develop

E X E C UT IV E S UM M ARY:
The MnD OT I -494: Airport to Highway 169 Project 1 team convened the V QA C in November 2021 to finalize
the aesthetic elements for the upcoming I -494 project. Members of the V QA C include local agency
representatives as well as community members who live or work along the corridor.
The VQAC conducted a context sensitive solutions evaluation to identify how the project would
integrate with the culture of the communities and to identify potential locations for future public art.
T he committee has met roughly two times per month which will continue through the end of March
2022 when the final VQM will be submitted for inclusion in MnD OT ’s design-build process for
Project 1. T his process has provided several ways for the public to engage which include online
surveys, virtual listening sessions, and pop-up events at community destinations.

This work session is intended to provide an informational update on the work of the V Q AC and no
