RESOLUTION CONTINUING A GRANT-IN-AID
PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF RICHFIELD
FO'R THE YEAR 1981
41HEREAS, the State of hlinn~sota provides r"or the making of grants pursuant
to Minnesota Statutes, Section 1.8.023, to assist residential property
owners in removal and disposal of diseased trees, and
_~ WHEREAS, such a program-will be beneficial to Richfield residents and
the community as a whole by reducing the spread of shade tree disease.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield:
T. That the City Manager continue to institute and direct tfie
Richfield Grant-in-Aid Program for the year 1981.
~~ 2. That the. City of Richfield will provide a local subsidy
to residential property owners for the removal and disposal
of eligibly diseased trees with the folioaving limits:
a. The City's Grant-in-Aid per diseased tree shall not
exceed 50°~ of the cost of removal and disposal of
that tree or $100, whichever is less.
3. That the subsidy determined in Paragraph 2 above includes .any
°eimbursement to the City by the State of Minnesota pursuant
to the Minnesota Shade Tree Law, Minnesota Statutes, .Section
18.023, as amended in 1977.
4. .That the City Manager and the Finance Director bring into effect
the provisions of this resolution.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield this 24th day of
November, 1980.
