RESOLUTION NO. 6403.
RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE CITY OF RICHFIELD
PARTICIPATION IN THE SOUTHWEST SUBURBAN CABLE
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has been an active participant
in the Southwest Suburban Cable Commisson since its inception in
1972, and
WHEREAS, the Southwest Suburban Cable Commission has undergone
a lengthy.. and rigorous franchising process, culminating in the
issuance of a franchise to Minnesota CableSystems, and
WHEREAS, the city council of the City of Richfield feels that
additional activities by the Southwest Suburban Cable Commission
could be beneficial on any on-going basis. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED'by the: City Council of the -City
of Richfield as follows:
1. The Southwest Suburban Cable~Commission is encouraged
to investigate and analyze its future role in the admin-
istratzor~.of construction of the Southwest franchise
system.
2. The Southwest Suburban Cable Commission is.encouraged to
investigate and analyze its role in the on-going adminis-
tration of the franchise during the 15-year life of the
franchise.
3. After analysis and determination of a proposed role for
the commission, the City Council of the City of Richfield
feels ti-~at the commission should transmit to the respective
elective bodies a working paper indicating the future role of
the Southwest Suburban Cable Commission, as well as financial
implications thereof.
