E X E C UT IV E S UM M ARY: The City General Election was conducted on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in conjunction with the State and Federal General Election. The City General Election included contests for the office of Council Member Ward One, Council Member W ard Two, and Council Member Ward Three. The "unofficial" results of the election are attached and any relevant updates will be provided at the City Council meeting. The Richfield City Charter states that the Council shall meet and canvass the election returns at the next regular or Special Council meeting immediately following any regular, primary or special election, but in no event later than the time prescribed by State law, and must make full declaration of the results as soon as possible, and file a statement thereof with the City Clerk. RE C O M M E ND E D AC T I O N: By Motion: Approve the resolution determining the results of the City General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. AT TAC H ME N T S: D escription Type Resolution Resolution L etter Results B ackup Material RESOLUTION NO. 11792 RESOLUTION DETERMINING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF RICHFIELD HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield that the Council, having received and considered the tally of votes by the election judges of the General Election held November, 2020, the results are determined to be as follows: Votes cast for Council Member Ward One: Simon Trautmann 4,364 Ruane Onesirosan 1,355 WRITE-IN 47 Votes cast for Council Member Ward Two: Sean Hayford Oleary 3,690 Gordon Vizecky 2,307 WRITE-IN 40 Votes cast for Council Member Ward Three: Ben Whalen 4,171 WRITE-IN 127 Total number of Richfield voters in this election: 20,070 Attachment A is the complete tabulation of results.
