RESOLUTION NO. bb39
CITY OF RICHFIELD
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN
JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Airports Commission (hereinafter
"the M.AC") owns and controls the Minneapolis°St.Paul International
Airport-Wold Chamberlain Field, a public airport located in
~-iennepin County; and
Vu°HEREAS, certain land appertaining to such airport is located
within the territorial limits of this City; and
WHEREAS, the MAC has requested in writing that this City join
with it and other affected municipalities and township in the
creation of a Joint Airport Zoning Board; and
WHEREAS,. this City deems it necessary and expedient to
participate a.n such a Joint Airport Zoninq Board in cooperation
with the MAC pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 360.063,
Subd. 3, and other applicable laws, for the purpose of establishing,
adaninisterng, and enforcing zoning laws for the area surrounding
the airport and for the protection of the airport and the public.;

WHEREAS, the above statu a provides that this City has the
right to appoint two persons to said Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the undersigned City of
Richfield as follows:
1. That there be created in cooperation with the
Metropolitan Airports Commission and other affected
municipalities, a Joint Airport Zoning Board composed
of representatives of the undersigned City and rep-
resentatives of the other affected municipalities and
townships, as is designated by Minnesota Statutes
Section 360.063, Subd. 3.
2. The undersigned City hereby appoints Vern Luettir_ger
and Rick Jopke to be their representatives on said
Board, said persons to serve for an indef finite term until
they resign or are replaced by the City Council.
