RESOLUTION DESIGNATING
CLAYTON L. LEFEVERE
CITY ATTORNEY EMERITUS
RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA.
WHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere was appointed Richfield City
Attorney on February 1, 1951, and
MHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has served Richfield with
distinction since his appointment, and
MHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere, through his service has been
instrumental in shaping this great community as it is today, and
MHEREAS, a small sample of Richfield accomplishments for
which Clayton L. LeFevere deserves significant credit includes:
Development of a sanitary sewer system,
Representation on the Metropolitan Stadium Board
Designation of Richfield as an All America City
Construction of new City Hall, Community Center,
outdoor swimming pools, Ice Arena, Wood Lake Nature Center
Development of city water system
Construction of permanent streets
Redevelopment of the Lyndale/Hub/Nicollet Area
Development of affordable elderly housing
Negotiation of land use agreement with the Metropolitan
Airports Commission for the Rich Acres Golf Course
Negotiation of Regional Cable Franchise
Incorporation of the Fourth of July Committee
MHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has made contributions to a
wide variety of regional municipal efforts which have had a
positive impact upon Richfield including the Metropolitan
Council, Suburban Rate Authority, LOGIS, League of Minnesota
Cities, Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Planning Commission,
Citizens League, Governor's Commission on Metropolitan Affairs,
and
WHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has served as a model to city
staff and elected officials in his thoughtful and sensitive
analysis of city issues, and
WHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has been an example in his
dedication to public service, understanding and demonstrating
`- that service to the community requires the ability to listen
carefully to public concerns, and
WHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has been instrumental in
provoking ideas to address the future needs of our community and
then transforming those ideas into reality, and

WHEREAS, Clayton L. LeFevere has simply been the best that
one can be as City Attorney.
NOM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Richfield that
Clayton L. LeFevere be officially designated as City Attorney
Emeritus of the City of Richfield and that by serving in this
capacity continue to bring Richfield the honor of retaining a
great lawyer and a great man as our City Attorney Emeritus.
