RESOLUTION ASKING FOR A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION INTO
THE MOST CREDIBLE AMERICAN PRISONER-OF-MAR
LIVE SIGHTING REPORT IN RECENT YEARS
Whereas, on the 27th of January 1989, 16 years have elapsed since the
agreement to end American involvement in the war in Southeast Asia; and
Whereas, one of the conditions of the agreement was a provision fcr the
return or an accounting of those persons who were Missing-Ir.-Action or
Prisoner of War; and
Whereas, Congress has previously established hearings to consider evidence
relating to the status of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia;
and
•~l-.ereas, on January 20, 1989 a Japanese Buddhist Monk, named Ganshin Yoshida
was released by the Vietnamese Government after being held for 14 years
(1975-1'?89) in a Vietnamese re-education camp; and
khereas, Ganshin Yoshida has stated that there were 5 or 6 English speakinG
Prisoners Of War being held in the same camp verified by Vietnar~esc-
Political Prisoners to be Americans.
Be it resolved that, we as concerned citizens and family members•~of
Americans ^iissing In Action hereby request the convening of a Con~ressi•:nnl
Investigatior. to determine the status .of this Live Sighting Repcrt anc to
review evidence of the 9,200 other live sighting reports of Americans still
?~;issing-In-Action from the Vietnam War.
