89-7550R10 RESOLUTION NO. 7550 THE AMERICAN CITIZENS COMMEMORATING THE DRAFTING OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHEREAS, it is the privilege and duty of the American people to commemorate the two hundred second anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America with appropriate ceremonies and activities; and WHEREAS, Public Law No. 915 guarantees the issuance of a proclamation~by the President of the United States of America, designating September 17 through 23 of each year as Constitution Week. NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council do hereby proclaim the week of September 17 through 23, 1989, as Constitution Week and urge all citizens to study the Constitution, to express gratitude for the privilege of American citizenship in our Republic functioning under the superb body of laws - the Constitution of the United States of America. _ IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City to be affixed this two hundred sixty-eighth day of the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighty- nine, and of the year of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred thirteenth.
