92-7921R73 RESOLUTION NO. 7921 RESOLUTION APPROVING ELIGIBLE DEFERRAL OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AGAINST OWNER OCCUPIED HOMESTEAD PROPERTIES OF PERSONS 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7310 was passed by the City Council on June 22, 1987, establishing procedures for deferment of special assessments against owner-occupied homestead properties of persons 65 years of age or older and persons permanently and totally disabled; and WHEREAS, application for deferral of payment of special assessments have been made on forms prescribed by the County Auditor and the homeowner has furnished the City the necessary information for determining eligibility in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 435.193 to 435.195. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, that the following owner-occupied property be approved for deferral of special assessments as listed below: PROPERTY ID ADDITION NO. AMOUNT 33-02824-13-0085 45605 5778.13 1. Such deferral of payment of special assessments shall terminate and all amounts accumulated, plus applicable interest, shall become due upon the occurrence of any of the following events: (a) death of the owner, provided that the surviving spouse is not eligible for the benefits hereunder; (b) the sale, transfer or subdivision of the property or any part thereof; (c) if the property should for any reason lose its homestead status; or (d) if for any reason the taxing authority deferring the payments shall determine that there would be no hardship to require immediate of partial payment. 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to certify a copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Hennepin County, Minnesota.
