RESOLUTION NO. 7984
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF $15,000 OF RICHFIELD'S
MUNICIPAL STATE AID CONSTRUCTION MONIES OFF-SYSTEM FUND
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN RAMPS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES. ACT
WHEREAS, it has been mandated that Richfield construct
pedestrian ramps, by Federal and State regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal State Aid (MSA) division of the
Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has granted an
administrative waiver allowing the expenditure of MSA
construction account funds for the purpose of constructing the
ramps; and
"` "'° WHEREAS, the cost of such improvement is estimated to be
approximately $15,000; and
WHEREAS, City Council approval is needed to expend Municipal
State Aid funds for off-system improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Richfield
does hereby appropriate from its Municipal State Aid Construction
Account the sum of $15,000 to apply toward the said off-system
improvement, and request the Commissioner of Transportation to
approve this authorization.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield this 22nd
day of February 1993.
