RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTIONSUPPORTING THE CITYOF RICHFIELTOHOST
A MINNESOTA GREENCORPS MEMBER
WHEREAS,the Cityof Richfield highly valuessustainability and isactively
working to help the community mitigate and adaptto the effects of climate change;and
WHEREAS,theCityofRichfieldis currentlyundertakingmultiplewaste
managementrelatedinitiatives,includingbroadeningresidentialorganicscollection,
improvingrecyclingatmulti-unitresidentialbuildings,andsharingeducationaround
reuse and waste reduction; and
WHEREAS,theCityofRichfieldhasappliedtohostanAmeriCorpsmember
fromtheMinnesotaGreenCorps,aprogram oftheMinnesotaPollutionControlAgency
(MPCA), for the 2021-2022 program year; and
WHEREAS,iftheMPCAselectstheCityofRichfield,theCityiscommittedto
implementingtheproposedprojectasdescribedin thehostsiteapplication,andin
accordance with pre-scoped position description; and
WHEREAS,theMPCArequiresthattheCityofRichfieldenterintoahostsite
agreementwiththeMPCAthatidentifiestheterms,conditions,rolesand
responsibilities;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,bytheCityCounciloftheCityof
Richfield,Minnesota,thattheCityofRichfieldherebyagreestoenterintoandsigna
hostsiteagreementwiththeMPCAtocarryout themember activitiesspecifiedtherein
and to comply with all of the terms, conditions, and matching provisions of the host site
agreement and authorizes and directs the City Manager to sign the grant agreement on
its behalf.
