Meeting called to order by Chair Sean Hayford Oleary at 6:35PM. 2. Approval of Agenda a.) Elizabeth moved; Jeff seconded; Unanimously approved 3. Approval of Minutes i. Todd moved; Mark seconded; Unanimously approved 4. Reports a.) Chair’s report: discussed permanently canceling the Human Rights Commission July meetings. The July meeting has typically been cancelled due to it’s proximity to the 4th of July. This will be discussed further at the October meeting; the commission secretary, Elizabeth needs to step down from recording duties. The board will discuss her replacement at the October meeting. b.) Vice Chair’s reports: The vice-chair was absent but she wanted to report that she has composed a letter to the school superintendant regarding the school lunch program. This letter will be circulated to other commission members before (or during) the October meeting for review before it is sent to the superintendant. e.) Liaison reports i. Officer Henthorne discussed a city online forum on environmental health issues. He will post topics on the website on public safety. Issues of inclusion and barriers to participation were also brought up; Officer Henthorne also mentioned some city code changes that he will provide more details about at the October meeting. 5. Unfinished Business a.) Penn Fest: Jeff and Nancy will cover the RHRC table at Penn Fest. Additional volunteers from the commission were requested 6. New Business: a.) A Community Conversation event for this fall was discussed. This will be elaborated on at the October meeting by Debbie. b.) Amelia noted that there is an upcoming Know Your Rights This event, which may take place in Richfield this year, will be open to commission members. Amelia will provide more details at the next meeting c.) Jeff proposed a Richfield shopping program that would provide incentives for people to patronize Richfield businesses. He will discuss this more in depth at the October meeting. 7. Next meeting: October 7, 2014, 6:30PM 8. Adjournment at 7:25PM: Mark moved, Nancy seconded, unanimously approved
