Chair Report (Nancy Roberts)
i. League of MN Human Rights
a. Commission approved paying $100 for the MNHR dues
b. League of MN Human Rights Essay Contest
i. Nancy will confirm information, topic, deadlines
ii. Todd and Debbie to check with the middle schools located in
Richfield to determine interest
c. Annual League meeting scheduled for February 22, 2014
i. Hours from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
ii. Richfield HRC is hosting at the City Hall
iii. All are welcome
ii. Commission Update
a. The terms of Philip Lowe, Jr. and Lall Ram expire January 31, 2014
b. Open positions for 2014 include two Commissioner openings, plus one
Youth opening
c. City Council will be interviewing interested candidates this month
Commissioner Reports
i. Social Media – Sean
a. Sean presented a Resolution requesting the RHRC be allowed
administrative access to the RHRC Facebook page
b. Access would allow select Commissioner(s) to make updates regarding
HRC events instead of needing to rely on City of Richfield personnel, as
per the current operation process
c. After discussion and a recommendation from Liaison Jay Henthorn, the
Resolution will be presented to the City Manager only, as that position
creates City Operating Policy
ii. Treasurer: $174.75
iii. Liaison(s) report - none
7) Old Business
i. Reviewed logic plan and the event planning tool
ii. The Commission will continue to document a turn-out plan for events
